Ellen Barker picked up her second individual silver of the Island Games on Thursday afternoon as she was pipped to the win in the women’s 60km road race.

Barker lost out by .14 of a second to Jersey’s Florence Cox who claimed gold and the dash to the line aided by team-mate Rebecca Catley who landed bronze .73 behind the Manxwoman.

The Isle of Man also picked up team silver with Tuesday’s time trial victor Becky Storrie fifth, Kathryn Priest seventh, Emily Looker ninth and crit winner Tara Ferguson 15th of the 18 that finished the tough six-lap course on Gibraltar’s east coast.

It completes a very successful week for the women’s team who have grabbed team and individual medals in all three cycling events.
