Aimee Cringle secured the Isle of Man’s fourth athletics gold of the Gibraltar Island Games at the Lathbury Sports Complex track on Thursday teatime.

The Games debutante won the the women’s 400 metres hurdles in a time of 63.58s, breaking the senior Isle of Man record that has stood since 1998.

2013 champion Shianne Smith of Bermuda was nearly a second down on Cringle in silver, with Menorca’s Anglea Marti picking up the bronze.
