Druidale Motor Club will provide rally action during the festive season, with a new Targa Rally at Jurby Motordrome on Saturday, December 30.

Targa events are relatively new and proving hugely popular across the UK and particularly in Northern Ireland.

They are effectively a cross between autotests and stage events with driving skill the main focus.

They offer a low-cost entry to the sport as there is no need for competition licences or racesuits and crash helmets for crews and car preparation is minimal, with modifications such as roll cages, race seats and harnesses and fire extinguisher systems not required.

Competitors can join the club for the event and receive it as part of their 2018 membership.

It will be a second pilot event ahead of a planned series in 2018 and follows a highly successful inaugural staging in June won by club chairman Scott Bradshaw and son Maxx.
