Isle of Man athlete Leighton Curphey was victorious in last Saturday’s Red Rose and Mid-Lancs Cross-Country League fixture held at Witton Park in Blackburn.

Leighton won the under-11 boys race, coming in clear of the field of more than 40 runners.

Leighton is the reigning u11 boys Lancashire cross-country champion and will still be in the same age group in January when he will aim to defend his title.
