With nothing much left to play for in the domestic hockey leagues, other than pride, attention has turned to the individual awards for the leading goalscorers.

With all games now completed in Rossborough Women’s Division One, the top goalscorer is confirmed as Charlie Millward of Vikings. She has scored almost double that of her nearest rival Martha Broderick.

Both of these players are future stars of Manx hockey and it will be interesting to see how they continue their fast upward trajectory.

There are some games left to play in the bottom half of the table in Rossborough Men’s Division One, but the goalscorers’ charts are dominated by three players unlikely to be usurped at the top.

Before last weekend, Paul Kelly and Christian Steriopulos were neck-and-neck on 23 goals apiece for Castletown A, but Chris Thomas’s goal-scoring form in recent weeks means he has catapulted himself into the mix.

That said, Sterio’s two goals at the weekend sees him sitting safely at the top of the chart and unlikely to be challenged.

Rossborough Women’s Premier League also has a couple of games remaining, but again the top spot in the goal-scoring chart is highly unlikely to be challenged.

Vikings’ Kim Carney currently out-scores her nearest rivals in the shape of the evergreen Danielle Kelly of Castletown, Rachel Lucas of Vakyrs and Victoria Garner of Ramsey - all by nine goals. Vikings still have one game to play.

It is much closer in the Rossborough Men’s Premier League with five players separated by only five goals.

Antony Bentley-Roberts takes home the plaudits with 16 goals, and his Bacchas colleague Andrew Whiting is sitting in second place on 15.

Jon Cooper of Vikings is the only non-Bacchas player in the top four, with Pat Cox occupying that spot.

Robin Masson rounds out the top five as Valkyrs’ highest goal scorer.
