There was a surprisingly disappointing turnout for the Isle of Man Track 10,000 metre Championships at the National Sports Centre on Monday.
On a cool, windy evening, Erika Kelly of Northern AC made easy work of the walk, winning in a time of 51min 20.6sec from rising star Mia Dunwell of the same club in a strong sub-55 minute time.
Adam Cowin was the leading male in third place, following a close tussle for some of the race with fellow Manx Harrier, vet-55 Tony Edwards.
Matt Callister of Kirk Michael recorded his maiden win when taking the 10km run by a margin of 14.6 seconds from Chris Killey.
More in next week’s Manx Independent.
