Isle of Man Netball is sending a team to Wales in mid-January to compete in a test series against three other nations.

Only a couple of months after the island hosted Wales for a three-match test series at the NSC, the Manx Rams will take on their counterparts from Gibraltar, Ireland and hosts Wales Netball in a six-match test series at Ebbw Vale Sports Centre.

In a statement on their website, Wales Netball said: ’The four nations will be battling it out in January to win the Wendy White Trophy who was part of the Wales Netball fraternity for over 50 years as an international player, umpire, coach, bench official and a key member of the Wales Netball Board.

’Wendy sadly passed away in 2016 and we are delighted to continue to honour Wendy’s dedication to the sport by naming the series and trophy after her.

’The matches are due to be played from Friday, January 14 to Sunday, January 16. The test series will be a new but good challenge for the senior squad.

’Having faced the Isle of Man in October, it is great to play them again along with the other nations.’

l Isle of Man Netball’s skills and fun sessions resume in January. This is the perfect opportunity to have fun while learning the game in a relaxed atmosphere with no expectations. Sessions begin on Monday, January 10 at the NSC from 7-8pm and continue weekly until March 14.
