From ninth on the grid, Ramsey resident Cal Crutchlow started well and was up to fifth after a few laps of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas on Sunday. He then settled into a battle with Johann Zarco (Tech 3 Yamaha), slipping his LCR Honda up the inside of the Frenchman at turn 12 with only a couple of laps remaining. But this didn’t give Crutchlow enough time to reel in Dani Pedrosa for third, denying the British rider another podium spot. Onchan resident Sam Lowes crashed out at turn 12 on lap 11. The race was won by Marc Marquez from Valentino Rossi. Crutchlow is currently fifth in the championship standings.
