Double Manx Grand Prix winner Nathan Harrison has already kick-started his 2021 racing campaign on the UK short circuits.

Over the winter he decided to make the leap into the UK racing scene in a concerted effort to further his career.

A new Honda 1000cc Fireblade was secured and prepared, with the ultimate mid-term aim of racing the roads next year and a particular focus on the 2022 TT.

To get round the Covid restrictions, Nathan and his parents - Jane and Dean - are in the middle of a three-week stint in England, taking in test days and three full race meetings at Donington and Oulton Park.

Nathan and Dean are able to work remotely for the family company, Quayside Tyres and Service Centre, from their motorhome on a campsite in Northwich, Cheshire.

’We are set up with remote desktops and the phone lines ring to our mobiles if the guys are too busy in our Douglas office to answer. Nathan is pricing up jobs.

’Importantly, Jane has been able to attend Clatterbridge for scans with regards to her ongoing condition.’

Last weekend Nathan rode the opening rounds of the No Limits Championship at Donington Park in Leicestershire, finishing in the top 10 in four races alongside some leading BSB Superstock riders.

For an initial outing on the new bike, he described the weekend as very productive.

His next races are at Oulton Park this weekend for the first round of the Wirral 100 Club Championship, then at the same Cheshire venue the following weekend for round two of the No Limits series.

They said that the security set-ups at the circuits were amazing and everyone was obeying the rules.

’It’s amazing at night as it is so quiet with everyone keeping themselves to themselves,’ said Dean.

Nathan will have to drop rounds to come home and isolate, work a month in Douglas and then return to the UK again for another stint of testing and racing.

’I have to say, if it wasn’t for Nathan’s brother Glenn and the team at Quayside we wouldn’t be able to do this,’ added Dean.

Maxton Engineering’s suspension guru Richard Adams linked up with the Harrisons this week to set up the bike and the Jackson brothers of Preston are again helping them.

Local engine tuner Dave Hagan is a huge help with the overall set-up, andthe team at Quayside is also thanked for allowing it to happen.
