Almost 1,100 entries have already been received for this year’s Manx Telecom Parish Walk.
As ever, corporate and overall team categories are also included in the event on June 23-24.
The corporate event is ideal for any business looking for a team-building exercise, a challenge to raise money for the company’s nominated charity, or a goal that colleagues can aim for to get fit or become more active.
It is for teams of four walkers who must all be bone fide employees of the same Isle of Man-based company.
Teams may include no more than one previous Parish Walk finisher (that is, no more than one person who has completed the full 85-mile course).
The overall team race is for four walkers and cannot include more than two walkers who have previously completed the full Parish Walk. There are prizes for the first team, and another separate prize for the best team of four women.
In both of the team competitions, the winners will be decided by the total aggregate distance covered by the four team members. In the event of a tie on mileage, the fastest aggregate time for the four walkers will determine the winner.
See www.parishwalk.com for full details.
Team and individual entries for this year’s Parish Walk officially close on May 6. Individual fees are £35 before March 31 and £40 from April 1 until the final entry deadline.
All entries must be made at www.parishwalk.com
