A very good match at Castle Rushen High School sports hall with 50 percent of the matches going to a third game.

Second men’s and second women’s were both won in two games by Vikings.

Alex Townell and Neil Brew beat Richard Kerr and Paul Osbourn 21/13 21/16, and Fiona Brew and Margaret Daughen overcame Sarah Goldie and Janet Corkish in two close games 21/19 21/19.

First men’s and first women’s both went to a third game. Vikings’ Steve Allen and Stuart Foley beat Neil Ronan and Rob Mason 21/14 19/21 21/14, while first women’s went in favour of Rushen when Kirree Ronan and Carole Ennett won 16/21 21/15 21/16 against Hayley Brophy and Steph Foxton.

All the mixed were very close with Vikings narrowly having the edge.

At fourth, Vikings won in two games with Townell/Daughen beating Kerr/Goldie 21/17 21/18.

Third went to a deciding game and it was Brew/Brew who won for Vikings 11/21 21/17 21/18 against Osbourn/Ennett.

Second mixed also went to a third game decider and it was Vikings again who had the edge through Allen/Brophy 17/21 21/16 21/17 against Mason/Corkish.

At first, Neil and Kirree Ronan won in two games for Rushen 21/16 21/17 against Foley/Foxton.

Player of the match for Rushen was indeed Kirree Ronan, and for Vikings it was Alex Townell.
