Sure-sponsored Vagabonds welcome Ashfield to Ballafletcher in Women’s NC One North West on Saturday for their first fixture in the island.
The two sides met earlier in the season where Vagabonds came home with a well-deserved win, so they will be hoping to replicate this victory again on home soil. In the previous encounter it was Vagas’ perseverance and fitness that eventually paid off against a significantly bigger Ashfield side.
Last Saturday’s bruising encounter at Broughton Park will most certainly have warmed up the Ballafletcher outfit for this weekend’s confrontation.
Vagabonds are without some key players again, including captain Corrina Daly and kicking machine Sammie Macdonald.
This along with the continued absence of Lauren Ellison will provide a positional headache for the coaching team, but the strength and depth of the squad has been successfully tested a number of times this season and the women will be confident that they can work as a unit to get the much-needed winning points.
The Six Nations action will also be on in the Ballafletcher clubhouse, so an entertaining day of rugby is on the cards. Come along and join in the fun.
