Castletown rugby club’s current XV picked up the new Chris Scott Memorial Trophy on Boxing Day when it beat annual opponents Elder Lemons 55-5 at Poulsom Park.
The latter side, which is comprised of players who have turned out for the club in previous years, matched their opponents for the early part of the muddy encounter until an early Matt Quine try put the current side ahead.
Further scores from Lewis Dawson, Kunal Patel and Western Vikings’ Danny McElroy among others put the class of 2017 further ahead, meaning Alex Gibson’s well-worked try in the second half was nothing more than a consolation for the Lemons.
Thanks to referees Lyndon Casey and Nick Dale plus all those who contributed to the £250 donation that was raised in aid of Hospice.
