Old Mutual Douglas host Penrith for the first time in the national leagues at Port-e-Chee on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors currently sit seventh in North One West with a played six, won three record after a good win over Birkenhead Park last week.

The Cumbrians also beat Manchester convincingly 48-26 in September.

Douglas left De La Salle last week with all the points after a try-bonus point win and, having lost their only league fixture at Manchester by one point, are placed fifth in a congested mid-table.

Selection quandaries abound, with a question mark over Paul Leivers ahead of a late fitness test. Mike Dunnet will make a first start in the front row alongside Harry Raven while Carl Markl-Ferns works his way back to full fitness.

Dom Winrow is recalled to the second row and Liam Kirkpatrick may step up in the absence of Max Singer.

A strong backline could see Aidan O’Shea starting at 10, Carl Murray resuming a promising partnership at centre with Conor Stephens, and new cap Sam Mete making a much-anticipated first home appearance on the wing after a try-scoring debut at De La Salle.

Winger Adam Boyd will want to bring his excellent form back to Port-e-Chee after running in two tries at De La Salle, and skipper Niall Killey will have a strong bench to call on where Lance Wyllie, Robert Todd and Bryn Snellgrove lie in wait.
