After a positive start to their campaign in South Lancs/Cheshire Division Three (South), Ramsey RUFC have been left at the altar this weekend, writes Dave Christian.
Their opponents Christleton have confirmed that they are unable to raise a team for the game which has now been postponed.
Christleton is a small club based near Chester and run only one team, therefore a club member’s wedding has left them with insufficient players this week.
The outcome of the game will be determined by RFU North Competitions Committee at a future date depending largely on whether it affects promotion.
MEC Turbo Tens take two
The domestic sides continue their build up for the season with what should be round two of the Manx Executive Committee Turbo Tens.
Sadly a variety of problems last weekend resulted in 10-a-side rugby being played under the conventional rules, with Southern Nomads showing they can adapt quicker with two wins from two in pool one.
In pool two the absence of Western Vikings and a dearth of players for everyone else meant only one game was played between Emerging Nomads and Castletown.
With Vikings available this week and Vagabonds looking a little better numbers wise, there should be more action.
