Douglas beat Liverpool St Helens 91-12 at Port-e-Chee on Saturday, but with league leaders Manchester winning away at Bowdon the Manx side had to settle for runners up spot in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One.

Douglas led 36-0 at one stage after first-half tries from Guy Wood (2), Max Singer, Shaun Wyllie, Carl Murray and Glyn Hooson-Owen. LSH hit back though and tries from Jordan Royle and Daz Wilson saw them trail 36-12 at half-time.

In the second half, the floodgates opened. Shaun Wyllie added his second, Carl Murray and Guy Wood each added three more and there were also tries from Karl Evans and Will Cain.

Douglas will now play-off for promotion with their likely opponents De La Salle on a date yet to be fixed.
