A second-half defensive effort of biblical proportions saw Douglas beat Glossop 20-0 at Port-e-Chee and climb to second place in South Lancs/Cheshire Division One on Saturday. Two early penalties from the flawless Bryn Snellgrove gave Douglas the early lead. A try from wing Adam Boyd consolidated their position and Snellgrove’s conversion left his side 13-0 in front at half-time. Max Singer bulldozed his way over for a try early in the second half and Snellgrove’s conversion into the wind made it 20-0, before the shutters came up.Round-up of all the weekend's rugby in Tuesday's Examiner. Results: Saturday, February 11
