Vagabonds and Ramsey’s scheduled games in the Lancashire/Cheshire leagues this weekend have been called off after both sides were hit by travel problems in the wake of airline Flybe’s collapse.

Vagas were meant to be playing host to Old Bedians at Ballafletcher, but the Manchester-based side haven’t been able to source an alternative way to and from the island for Saturday’s fixture.

Similarly, Ramsey now can’t get off island for their fixture away at Birchfield in Lancashire/Cheshire One.

Douglas’s North One West encounter with Vale of Lune will, however, go ahead at Port-e-Chee, with the Lancaster side and its large party of supporters travelling by boat.

There are two other games locally, with Western Vikings playing Emerging Nomads at QEII in the Manx Shield and Ramsey B hosting Castletown in the Manx Plate at Mooragh Park.
