There’s only one game in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield this Saturday and it’s at Poulsom Park where Castletown take on defending champions Douglas Celts.

The Celts currently lie in second place but have a game in hand on leaders Southern Nomads and a win this week will see them draw level at the top of the table and will see the Shield decided by a one-off play-off game.

Town have shown glimpses of promise this season and are slowly but steadily improving.

Kunal Patel and Lewis Dawson provide the flair in the backline and Dawson’s deceptive pace make him a man to watch. Douglas, however, should have no fears of this game.

With a battle for first-team places ongoing at Port-e-Chee everyone in the Celts is razor keen and this is helping them drive for back-to-back Shield titles. Expect a Douglas win here.
