This Saturday marks the return to league rugby for Vagabonds Ladies as they make a familiar journey to Leigh RUFC in Women’s NC 1 North West.

Vagas have been luckier than many UK women’s sides during the pandemic, having played against and convincingly beat Guernsey Ladies last year as well playing a non-contact variation of the game in the island’s men’s leagues last season.

Vagabonds and Leigh have a long-standing rivalry and have met each other several times over the years. Fixtures are always close, physical and hard-fought battles - this one promises to be no different.

Vagas coach Kyle Crouser has been impressed with his squad in training and is looking forward to getting his first season with the squad underway. Captain Lauren Ellison leads a side with a good mix of both experienced players and new faces to the Vagas line-up.

She knows it will be a tough physical game and has every confidence that her team can get the season off to a winning start.
