With everyone moving through their fixtures at slightly different rates, there is a mixed bag of domestic rugby this weekend.

There is one game in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield and one in the Manx Plate.

In the Shield, Western Vikings have a house call from Castletown, while in the Plate, Ramsey B make yet another trip south to face Emerging Nomads who have yet to play a game in the competition.

Over in Peel, there should be an interesting match up between Vikings and Town.

Vikings have lost four from four in the Shield while Town are flying uncharacteristically high in third place.

Town were workmanlike last week and never gave up even when trailing.

They’re missing a few and while Dan James is unlikely to return, Tom Bielich reappearance would be most welcome.

Vikings’ Liam Sweeney was back with a bang last Saturday with two tries while leading Viking try scorer Danny Howard was kept quiet.

These pair on form will be a worry for Town.

Finally, on something of a high from last Saturday Mike Caine will lead his Ramsey B troops to King William’s College to face Emerging Nomads.

The Ramsey win at Castletown was no fluke and Mike is starting to build a tidy team.

Youngster Harry Parsons looks sharp and paired with veteran Aaron Curphey, they’re a formidable team.

Emerging Nomads have had little game time for a few weeks and they may struggle against a match-sharp Ramsey outfit.
