With the hockey season drawing to a close and the men’s top flight already won by Bacchas A, attention turns to the other leagues that could be decided this weekend.
In the Rossborough Women’s Premier League, Vikings A will win the title if they win or draw against Valkyrs A.
In what has been a series of close-fought battles so far between the two sides, coupled with an eight-week break, this one could go either way.
Even if Valkyrs were to win, they are also relying on Vikings dropping points on the final day of the league season which could very well be a possibility against a Bacchas A side who always hit form in the final part of the campaign and have their say on the title destination.
Elsewhere Valkyrs B will be looking to take home the Men’s Division One title when they face fellow title challengers Castletown A.
Even if the latter were to somehow take home the win, they are also relying on Valkyrs losing their final game against Bacchas Colts which, given the fact the westerners have been in mighty form all season and remain undefeated, means the title is likely to head west along with promotion to the top flight.
The title fight between Vikings B and Bacchas B in Rossborough Women’s Division One comes to fruition this weekend in what represents their final game.
Bacchas B go up against Vikings C who will be hoping to do their second string a favour, while Bacchas C will be hoping to do the same when they face Vikings B.
The title will come down to which of the two sides can score the most goals on Saturday, with one goal currently the difference which creates a mighty battle on the final day of this league’s season.
