Matt Bostock claimed a silver medal in at the 2017 British Cycling Track Champs in Manchester last week.
The 19-year-old Manx cyclist formed part of the 100% ME team alongside Ethan Hayter, Joe Holt and Matthew Walls for the event at Manchester Velodrome where fellow Manxies Conor Davies and Matt Draper were also in action.
The quartet ended qualification with the second fastest time behind the Brother NRG Driverplan team in a time of 4min 13.167sec to book their place in the gold medal match.
Unfortunately Driverplan still went quickest to claim the gold but Bocky’s team greatly improved their time to 4m 5.052s and walked away with an impressive silver.
The Manx trio were also in action in the men’s scratch, with both Bocky and Draper finishing fourth in their respective heats and Davies 13th in his.
In the medal contest, Bostock was the highest-placed Manx rider in eighth place while Davies was 19th representing Speedflex.
The latter pair also competed in the men’s points heats where Bocky stormed to victory in heat one while Davies was 19th in his. Bostock went on to finish 12th in the final.
Draper and Bocky took part in the men’s individual competition, with Bocky fifth in the qualifiers while his namesake was 26th riding for Velocity Globalbike. Bocky went on to end the final in seventh place.
Draper and Davies also finished 29th and 36th respectively in the men’s 1,000m time trial.
