Manx netball’s current top two go head-to-head on Sunday as the season comes to a close at the NSC with the finals of the Newfield Cup, Plate and Vase competitions.
Simcocks Red Eagles will be aiming to complete a league and cup double when they face rivals SMP Ballasalla A in the morning’s main event at 11am.
Prior to that Simcocks Green will take on Castletown in the Plate final at 9am, followed by SMP Ballasalla B up against Route 1 Connections in the Vase finale at 10am.
Isle of Man netball development officer Rachel Andrew, said: ’Everyone is really looking forward to Sunday’s cup finals, it is going to be a gripping few hours with three highly-anticipated matches.
’The cup final in particular is set to be a thrilling game, with some of the best players in the island ferociously fighting for that win.
’The competition is fierce between Simcocks Red Eagles and SMP Ballasalla A, and with Simcocks Red just taking the top spot in the Premier Division, Balla will no doubt be giving it their all so they can come away with some silverware of their own.
’We are hoping to get a big crowd down to support the players - there is always a great atmosphere on the day that is enjoyed by people of all ages.
’Everyone is welcome to come and spectate, and whether you are familiar with netball or not, the fast-paced finals are not one to be missed.’
