A charity squash tournament has raised more than £8,500 for a four-year-old’s cancer treatment.
More than 140 players took the the NSC courts on Sunday to help raise money for Leo Keefe’s specialist proton therapy in the United States.
Leo now lives in Spain, but his mum Karen grew up in Onchan and is friends with tournament organiser Rob Boyles.
Rob posted on Facebook after the competition: ’What an amazing turnout. So many games, so many laughs and so much money raised.
’Big thanks to everyone who supported, donated, played and reffed.
’Thanks also to Les Callow from the Isle of Man Squash Rackets Association for helping with the organising.’
Global fundraising efforts have ensured the family have reached their £150,000 target and are due to fly out to the States later next week.
