A total of 13 Team RL360 members travelled to the UK recently for a busy weekend of racing.

On the Saturday the team competed in the North West Youth Championships at a very wet Preston Arena.

In the under-16 boys Tyler Annis outsprinted a leading group of six riders to take the win and the yellow championship jersey that goes with it.

John White (North Cheshire Clarion) and Maxwell Hereward (Cycle Sport Pendle) completed the podium, with the RL360 pairing of Callum Salisbury and Niall Colquitt just behind in fourth and fifth respectively.

Team-mates Ivan Sorby and James Scott crashed out in the slippery conditions.

William Curphey picked up the team’s second yellow jersey in the under-14 boys age group. The race ended with a leading break of four RL360 riders crossing the line together.

After the bikes transponders were consulted, Curphey was given the victory ahead of Oscar Gaylor, James Kinrade and Alec Sorby. Freddie Griffin and Orry Lund sixth and seventh in the chasing group gallop.

Jess Pickavance and Florence Griffin represented the team in the under-14 girls where Jess finished second and Florence was fourth behind the winner Megan Lloyd (Harry Middleton CC).

On the Sunday, the team were in Scarborough for the latest round of British Cycling’s National Series.

In contrast to the previous day’s wet weather, conditions were almost tropical around the famous Oliver’s Mount circuit.

James Kinrade produced the ride of the day to finish an excellent sixth in the under-14 boys.

Will Curphey was a very good ninth, Oscar Gaylor 20th, Alec Sorby 32nd, Freddie Griffin 47th and Orry Lund 52nd.
