Round three of the Microgaming-sponsored Isle of Man Cross-Country League takes place this Sunday over the Crossags course on the outskirts of Ramsey.
As usual the registration desk opens at 1pm at the amenity block on the campsite and will remain open until 2pm.
Please arrive in good time if entering on the day. Those who have entered for the series don’t need to check in unless they have lost their number, as a new one will need to be issued.
The course is hilly and testing with some flat agricultural fields. The underfoot conditions will be determined by the weather over the next few days.
Everyone is asked to park in the Ramsey Grammar School car parks as space is limited higher up.
The under-nine boys and girls will start their event at 2pm over 860 metres (two small laps) followed by the u11s at 2.10pm (1,290m, three small laps).
The short course and u13 boys/girls (2,600m, one large and one small lap) start at 2.25pm, followed at 2.35pm by all other age groups.
Under-15 boys and girls, u17 girls and junior women will cover two full laps (4,660m).
At the same start time the u17 boys, junior men, senior and veteran women will run three full laps (6,990m). Also starting at 2.35, the senior and veteran men will cover four full laps, a total distance of 9,320m.
In the senior events, Rachael Franklin and Alan Corlett have had clear wins in both events up to now so it will be intriguing to see whether they can be caught on the hillier terrain at Ramsey.
Thanks go to Northern AC for hosting and also Microgaming for the much-valued support of local cross-country events.
l A full report and results will appear in next week’s Manx Independent.
