This week in PwC Mixed Division One sees two title rivals go head-to-head in what could be a huge battle in the race for the league honours.
If Saracens win they will be level on points with Vikings and, with Valkyrs B favourites to win their game against Bacchas C, the league could see three teams all level on points.
After Vikings laboured to a victory over Harlequins A last week, they will need to hit top gear early to win against a very good Saracens side.
Following Harlequins’ good performance last Saturday, they visit Vikings C this week which should see them take both points on offer.
A close game is in prospect between Ramsey A and Valkyrs A in PwC Mixed Premier League.
The northerners need to win this game in order to move a further two points away from the relegation zone, with Bacchas B currently sitting on nil points but always capable of an upset.
Therefore, Ramsey will want a further buffer to move themselves away from the drop zone dogfight.
A huge game is being played at King William’s College in PwC Mixed Division Two this week with both title challengers facing off.
After Saracens’ promotion last year, they have been the surprise package of the league so far and if they can find some continuity regarding team selection, they could yet surprise us all again by beating Ramsey Ravens.
That said, Ramsey Ravens have looked unbeatable so far this term and it will take something special to beat them this week.
After the easy opening weekend for Cammags, they have only managed one point since and, after Bacchas Colts’ win last week, they have been dragged into a relegation fight and could suffer successive demotions.
Bacchas Colts managed a surprise win last time out and could spring another surprise this week by beating an inconsistent Cammags side.
In PwC Mixed Division Three the rapidly-improving Vikings Colts team look to sustain their title challenge against Castletown Southerners. After their heroic win last week against their own D team, few will bet against them taking both points on offer here.
Vikings D will be hoping to bounce back from that defeat when they go up against Bacchas D.
Both of these teams are two of the most experienced sides in Manx hockey and this game should see some great action on show.
Harlequins Colts take on Valkyrs D with both teams being almost completely opposite to each other, with Harlequins trying to play a fast-paced game and Valkyrs using physicality to slow the play down.
Harlequins will need to avoid the physical side of the game if they are to win here.
