With the weather forecast predicting low cloud and mist later on today, TT clerk of the course Gary Thompson has come up with a plan to ensure at least some qualifying can take place this evening, Wednesday.
Having lost two sessions to the weather already this week, Thompson has come up with a contingency plan to hopefully ensure competitors can get some much-needed track time.
The session will get under way as scheduled at 6.20pm (roads close at 6pm). If the low cloud and mist does then materialise and hinder the airmed’s ability to cover the course’s higher sections, competitors will be stopped at Ramsey and then escorted over the mountain section at a controlled speed by travelling marshals.Thompson has confirmed that the laps will count as qualifying. Depending on how the rest of the week plays out, organisers could make the call to postpone Saturday’s racing until Sunday.
