UK Athletics has told clubs to prepare for a possible start-up of track and field competition in September.

Championship races and Open events on the track would take preference, although the Manx Harriers committee believe it is more likely that events might start up again later in the autumn, in which case the track season would probably not happen at all in 2020.

The following events are already timetabled for September, but may have to move or be cancelled if the present situation persists or if space has to be made for the IoM Track and Field Championships or an Open event.

September 5-6: Multi-event championships (IoMAAA); September 6: 20km race walking champs (Manx Harriers); Sept 13: Peel to Douglas trail run (MH); October 4: One Hour Walk challenge (MH); Oct 11: IoM Cross-country league (round one).

PARISH WALK FEES

Those who entered the Easter Festival of Running and Parish Walk will have their fees returned by cheque in the next few weeks.

The Up & Running-sponsored track and field league for under-sevens, under-nines and u11s athletes is presently suspended, but it is hoped that a decision will be made in the next few weeks regarding whether it will happen at all this summer.
