Even though it’s half-term for schools, there’s still a busy schedule ahead for Manx hockey this weekend, with sparks flying in many games.
Teams in the title race will be hoping their strikers are on fire. The most tantalising game ahead looks to be Valkyrs versus Vikings.
At the last meeting it was an eight-goal thriller ending in a 4-4 draw but Steven Crowe has transferred back to the blacks which may cause explosions.
Top versus bottom is taking place when Bacchas take on Harlequins. No surprises should take place here and a win for Bacchas would inch them ever closer to the title.
Elsewhere, Ramsey play Bacchas B. The latter will be looking for their first points of the season for relegation safety - they are joint bottom with Harlequins but have significantly lower goal difference.
In Division One the title race is hotting up and the top two teams will go head to head. Vikings B are ahead by only two points and a Castletown Celts victory here would see them level on points.
Valkyrs B take on Saracens Sabres which will be a tight affair. Valkyrs B will be battling to get away from the drop zone, while third-placed Saracens will be looking for their fourth win of the season.
Another team facing the prospect of relegation are bottom-of-the-table Castletown Cammags who play Bacchas C, which again could go in anyone’s favour.
In Division Two a decisive match takes place when Vikings C host Ramsey Ravens. Both are top of the table and are neck-in-neck with 10 points apiece, so whoever emerges the victor could have the title in their sights.
Elsewhere, Valkyrs D host Bacchas Colts. Valkyrs will be aiming for safety, with Bacchas Colts not far behind the top two.
Valkyrs C take on bottom side Ramsey Rookies which will be a pivotal game in the drop zone.
Over in Division Three there are plenty of close games in prospect. Leaders Vikings Colts take on sixth-placed Saracen Sharks in what should be a straightforward game, but the Blues should not be underestimated.
Mid-table Harlequins Colts and Bacchas D go head-to-head, which again could swing either way. Finally, Harlequins B take on Saracens Colts who are hot on the heels of Vikings at the top of the table.
