The McCanney brothers both had wins in the round two of the 2018 Maxxis Enduro World Championship in Galicia over the weekend.
The event was based round the historic city of Santiago de Compostello in the far north-west of Spain.
On Saturday, Jamie won E1 class on his Yamaha Outsiders machine, confirming that he will be the man to beat this season.
Not to be outdone, elder sibling Daniel won E3 on the factory 300cc Beta, beating reigning champion Steve Holcombe and top frenchman Christophe Nambotin, Danny’s Gas Gas team-mate.
In the overall Enduro GP class, encompassing all three capacity categories, Jamie was fourth and Danny fifth.
After beautiful conditions on day one, Sunday was swamped by rain. While Jamie registered another win in E1, his brother suffered bad luck in E3.
Despite making a perfect start to the day, an issue with the front wheel of his machine plunged him into the depths of the rankings.
A bitter disappointment for the Manxman after registering one of the best results of his career 24 hours earlier.
Jamie had no one near him at the top of E1, in addition to which he also finished an excellent second behind fellow Brit Holcombe on scratch in the overall GP standings.
’The day was long... very long,’ said Jamie. ’Finishing second in EnduroGP is great, especially since my main rivals used soft tyres, unlike me. My Yamaha worked perfectly in these extreme conditions and I want to thank all the Yamaha Outsiders Team for their excellent work.’
The series continues in Portugal this weekend.
l The Cringle brothers - Ryan and Jamie - were the boys to beat in round three of the IoM ACU Centre road race championships at Jurby on Sunday.
