A spectacular stunt has been filmed on the Isle of Man’s Mountain Road as production continues on the Hollywood feature film inspired by the TT.

Footage captured by digital creator Frank Schuengel shows a dramatic crash scene being filmed near the Veranda on the A18 on Tuesday morning, as crews continued work on Isle of Man.

The location is close to the section where TT star Conor Cummins suffered a serious crash during the 2010 TT, an incident which left him with a long list of injuries.

The stunt forms part of the second phase of filming for the Amazon MGM Studios production, which returned to the island this week following additional filming in Ireland.

Crews were also at the TT Grandstand in Douglas on Sunday morning, with Isle of Man Today understanding that stunt doubles were involved rather than principal cast members Channing Tatum and Eve Hewson.

The entire 37.73-mile course is not being closed at once, with restrictions introduced on specific sections to allow filming to take place.

The film, also starring Ciarán Hinds, May Calamawy and Ruaridh Mollica, began production on the island in May, with filmmakers using the real TT environment during race week.

Local people were also recruited as extras for scenes designed to recreate the atmosphere of the TT winners’ enclosure.

Production later moved to Ireland, including filming in County Sligo in July, before crews returned to the Island for the latest phase.

The project forms part of a wider agreement with Amazon MGM Studios which also includes a companion documentary series filmed during the 2024 Isle of Man TT.
