Port St Mary has a new inshore lifeboat.

The D class boat, named Frank Martin, arrived in the island on Tuesday to replace its existing D class boat the Spirit of Leicester.

A spokesperson said: 'All the crew are excited to have some training and see what it can do, but for now it’s nicely tucked up in the boathouse.'

In addition to the Frank Martin, the station also has a larger all-weather Trent class boat, the Gough Ritchie II.

Douglas recently also received a new vessel, the Ruby Cleary which had previously spent both time at Ramsey and before that Peel.
